Apply for a Summer 2019 Class of 2010 Summer Housing Grant

The Office of Experiential Learning is accepting online grant applications for Summer 2019.

To apply please complete the webform below. Applications are due no later than May 10, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. The purpose of this fund is to provide MIT students participating in an unpaid or underpaid internship/volunteer opportunity during the summer with a small grant of up to $1,000 to subsidize summer housing expenses.

When establishing the Fund, the Class of 2010 intended to provide some support to students who elect to participate in a summer internship or volunteer experience without regard to wages.

General Criteria for Grant Recipients:
  • Eligible student must be a current MIT undergraduate in good standing and eligible to register for fall semester classes.
  • The student must demonstrate financial need for summer housing (not limited to on-campus or Cambridge area housing) based on participation in volunteer work and/or an unpaid/underpaid internship.
  • Student’s internship/volunteer work may not take place within commuting distance to student’s home.
  • The student may not be participating in a summer UROP for pay.
