The Office of Experiential Learning is accepting online grant applications for Summer 2019.
To apply please complete the webform below. Applications are due no later than May 10, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. The purpose of this fund is to provide MIT students participating in an unpaid or underpaid internship/volunteer opportunity during the summer with a small grant of up to $1,000 to subsidize summer housing expenses.
When establishing the Fund, the Class of 2010 intended to provide some support to students who elect to participate in a summer internship or volunteer experience without regard to wages.
General Criteria for Grant Recipients:
- Eligible student must be a current MIT undergraduate in good standing and eligible to register for fall semester classes.
- The student must demonstrate financial need for summer housing (not limited to on-campus or Cambridge area housing) based on participation in volunteer work and/or an unpaid/underpaid internship.
- Student’s internship/volunteer work may not take place within commuting distance to student’s home.
- The student may not be participating in a summer UROP for pay.
